Vince Caballero has over 38 years of financial services industry experience. He joined MUFG Union Bank in 2010 as Managing Director and Region Manager of San Fernando Valley and later in 2014 became the Region Manager of Santa Barbara County. With the acquisition of U.S. Bank in 2023, Caballero expanded his role overseeing the operations of the Central Coast consisting of 16 branches with over $2.3 billion in deposits in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. In September of 2023 Caballero retired from banking.
Caballero started his career as a Vice President and District Manager for Wells Fargo Bank. Just prior to joining Union Bank, Caballero was a Senior Vice President and Premier Market Manager for Bank of America.
Caballero was honored with the 2012 President’s Award for top performing region and was the 2014 Business Banking Small Business Champion. Caballero was named to The Pacific Coast Business Times’ 2021, 2022 and 2023 list of Who’s Who in Banking and Finance. Under his leadership, the Santa Barbara County Region was recognized three consecutive years as one of the Best Places to Work with special recognition as Editor’s Choice in 2022 from the Pacific Coast Business Times.
Active in the community, Caballero is a member of the board of directors of the Autry Museum, Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, VNA Health and the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. He previously served on the board of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Casa Pacifica as well as the MUFG Union Bank Foundation and was chairman of the Foundation’s California Central Coast Area Committee, overseeing the distribution of Foundation dollars in the Central Coast. He volunteers with the United Way, Alzheimer’s Association and Habitat for Humanity and has served as chair for the American Heart Association’s 2016 and 2017 Santa Barbara Heart and Stroke Walk. In 2023 and 2024 he served as the honorary co-chair for the Alzheimer's Walk in Santa Barbara.
